Hope all is well with you. I wanted to pass on an invite to Boothbay V.E.T.S. to join our town this year.

On Monday, May 26, 2025, the Town of Lisbon will be celebrating Memorial Day with a parade and ceremonies coordinated by the American Legion Coombs-Mountfort Post 158. This year’s theme is “Pass the Torch” as we hope to educate our town and youth on the importance of remembering those men and women who served in the armed forces and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

The day will begin with a Memorial Day Salute to the fallen at St. Anne’s Cemetery at 7a.m. to include full gun honors, prayer, and a moment of silence. Following this ceremony will be the parade that will originate at Lisbon High School on Rte. 196, with a form up time between 8 and 8:30 a.m. The parade will start at 9 a.m. and terminate at Worumbo Park, Canal St., Lisbon Falls. There will be an observance and a guest speaker at the podium in Worumbo Park to conclude the ceremony and parade.

We welcome military and veteran organization to come set up booths/tables with information to educate our town on services available in the area. The tables will be at the park near the stage and we would like them set up by 9 am so that towns people can visit the booths while waiting for the ceremony to begin. We highly encourage your organization to participate in the parade so as to bring recognition to your mission.

In addition to the Memorial Day Events the American Legion would like to encourage your organization to participate in the Lisbon/Lisbon Falls cemetery flag placement. On May 17th beginning at 9 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Lisbon Falls members of the American Legion and community organizations will be placing flags at the graves of veterans.
